The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. This form of skin cancer is the type that develops in the cells that give skin its color, or melanin. It is considered the most serious form of skin cancer because it can quickly spread to other parts of the body and become potentially deadly.
The 64 year old discovered the disease after having several moles removed and analysed during her treatment for breast cancer, which she announced in June 2023. She is said to be recovering at home and in good spirits. Sarah Ferguson also thanked her medical team and urged people to check their moles for signs of melanoma.
