the GFA has backed Chris Hughton despite calls for his dismissal after Ghana’s 2-1 loss to Cape Verde in the opening Group B match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mr. Henry Asante Twum, spokesperson for the GFA, who said that they have had a meeting with the coach and gave him 100% assurance that they are solidly behind him.
He also stated that the incident involving Hughton and a fan was not as severe as initially reported by some Ghanaian journalists covering the tournament.
