South Africa aims to reduce high levels of crime and human rights abuses against women by decriminalizing sex work in the country after the legislation put before parliament is passed.
According to the justice ministry, the new legislation will decriminalize sex work in the country hence reduce the number of human rights violations against sex workers as mentioned at a press briefing by Justice Minister Ronald Lamola on Friday.
“It is hoped that decriminalization will minimize human rights violations against sex workers,”
