The football federation president of Cameroon; Samuel Eto who doubles as a former football national team player apologizes for his “violent altercation”
A video circulating online shows angry Eto kicking someone with his camera who fell to the ground after an interaction with the said victim.
The former footballer has apologized saying,
“I would like to apologize for losing my temper and reacting in a way that does not match my personality. I apologize to the public for this unfortunate incident,”
According to Eto, he and other Cameroon supporters have been harassed by Algerians after results of the World Cup qualifier earlier this year was out which confirmed that Cameroon qualified for the ongoing 2022 world cup in Qatar but Algeria did not qualify.
He has however promised to keep calm and ignore any harassment by Algerian supporters
“I pledge to continue to resist the relentless provocation and daily harassment of some Algerian supporters. Indeed, since the Cameroon-Algeria match on March 29 in Blida, I have been the target of insults and allegations of cheating without any evidence,” Eto’o said
