Health benefits of the sun

Many of us have heard about the side effects of direct sunlight on our skin and especially the discomfort and burns it brings on much sunny days. However, the sunlight has proven to be very good for our health.

You may also be wondering how much of direct sunlight to our skin is enough for us each day. The truth is that as humans, coming into direct contact with the sun of about 15 minutes is good enough. However, persons with darker skin complexions may have to enjoy about 50 minutes of being under the sun as they have more melanin and that makes it quite longer for them to get enough of the required sunlight unlike persons with fair skin complexions.

We may sometimes or always have busy schedules that might be preventing us from coming into contact with the sun but here are some easy and smart ways to achieve this requirement each day.

  • Take a walk during launch time

  • Schedule outdoor meetings regularly

 

  • Exercise regularly

  • Engage in gardening on weekends
