James Agbey, an operative of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), warned Ernest Owusu Bempeh, a deputy communication director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), over his alleged attacks on former president John Mahama.
Agbey said that Owusu Bempeh was spreading lies and falsehoods about Mahama and the NDC, and threatened to deal ruthlessly with him if he did not stop. He also accused Owusu Bempeh of being involved in corrupt scandals that would be exposed and prosecuted by the NDC if they come to power in 2025.
Owusu Bempeh, on the other hand, has defended his criticism of Mahama and the NDC, and claimed that the NPP has a better track record of managing the economy and delivering development projects.
He also challenged Mahama to swear by a river god deity that he had never kept over one million dollars in his house, and alleged that the NDC was planning to cause violence at the Assin North by-elections.
