AMERICAN AIRLINE PLANE SCARE AT NEW YORK AIRPORT

An American Airlines plane slid off the taxiway at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport in New York on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The flight, American Eagle Flight 5811, had departed from Philadelphia and was being operated by Piedmont Airlines, a subsidiary of American. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. and was caused by snowy airfield conditions.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the 50 passengers and three crew members on board. The aircraft was expected to be towed from the taxiway and taken out of service to undergo a full inspection.
