BLACK STARS OF GHANA ARRIVE IN COTE D’IVOIRE STYLED IN KENTE

The Black Stars of Ghana, the national football team, arrived in Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, in style on January 10, 2024. They were there for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opener against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024.

The players and the technical team were dressed in beautiful kente clothing, a traditional Ghanaian attire that symbolizes royalty. The team’s display of Ghanaian fashion was met with cheers at the airport. Despite a disappointing draw in a preparation match against Namibia, the Black Stars were in good spirits.

Ghana is drawn in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique. After the opener against Cape Verde, they will face record champions Egypt on Thursday, January 18, and Mozambique on Monday, January 22.
