Ellen Johnson to support African Women

The former Liberian president’s plan is to launch a plan to support African women to attain high level in the African continent which is known to be dominated by male leaders.

During her conversation on phone with Thomson Reuters Foundation, she said,

“we are creating this wave of women who are ready to take high-level leadership positions in society, and they are going to go for it intentionally”

According to her, the first year will be used in providing mentorship for 15 women leaders with the help of two former female presidents- Joyce Banda from Malawi and Catherine Samba-Panza from Central Africa Republic.
