Michael Banks allegedly shot and killed a woman, injured two others, and opened fire on responding police officers in Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Banks reportedly had a violent past and allegedly tried to romance his teenage daughter before the incident.
Prosecutors believe that Banks went into a violent rage after he overheard his mother and another woman discuss kicking him out of the home after they learned he was pursuing a romantic relationship with his daughter.
Banks is being charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted murder of a law enforcement official, and illegal possession of a firearm as a felon.
