Asamoah Gyan, the former Ghana captain, is one of the first African football icons to sign up for the recently launched CAF Ambassadors programme.
The programme aims to promote CAF and African football, as well as to participate in various activities such as tournaments, charity initiatives, and social events.
Gyan is the African with the most goals in the history of the FIFA World Cup, scoring six goals from three editions. He also played in seven Africa Cup of Nations, reaching the final in 2010 and 2015.
He is widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation and a legend of Ghanaian football.
