IAAS GHANA PARTICIPATES IN THE 2020 IAAS WORLD CONGRESS.

IAAS GHANA participates in the 2020 IAAS WORLD Congress.

International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) is an international student association founded in 1957 with its head situated in Belgium. IAAS is the biggest association with over 50 member countries and 1000 student members across the globe. It’s features students reading Agriculture and it’s related sciences. Each year, IAAS organizes a world congress to share experiences and build up cultural and social knowledge and ideas from all regions across the globe.

This year, IAAS GHANA, a member of IAAS WORLD is actively participating in the 63rd World Congress which is being held online due to the outbreak of the pandemic. The Congress which started on the 18th of July, officially saw representatives from diverse countries and regions with full energy and glamour to participate and feel the IAAS experience.

According to the National Director, he expressed excitement for this year’s Congress and pledged his full commitment to the success of its success.

The new executive board was sworn in later last month (June) to manage the Ghana chapter of IAAS. Obed Manu Asamoah was sworn in as President (National Director). Prior to his appointment, he was the President of the University of Ghana Chapter of the Association – School of Agriculture.

The other members of the Board are Mr. Bright Emmanuel Abiah – Vice president of in charge of External Relations,

Mr. Joseph Owusu – Vice President for Communication,

Ms. Theresah Amissah – Vice President for Finance

Felix Bonney as Vice President for Exchange Programs.

Mr. Benjamin Akwetey as Vice President for Projects and Programs

and Ms. Felicity as National Secretary. 

The world Congress is scheduled to end on July 31, with the approval of amendments of the Constitution and Bye-Laws, Elections of new Executive and Control Board Members, Training Workshops, amongst others.
