LECTURER SHOT DEAD BY UNKNOWN GUNMEN

Mr. Alhassan Azumah, a lecturer and Deputy registrar of the Bolgatanga Technical University was shot dead at his residence. He was shot multiple times by unknown gunmen who were on a motorbike at his residence in Sokabiisi, a suburb of Bolgatanga, on Wednesday, January 17 2024.

Mr. Alhassan was recently promoted from Director of Public Affairs to Deputy Registrar. He was also a native of Zemasa in the Bawku Municipality. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Samuel Erasmus Alnaa, confirmed the incident but said he had no knowledge of what led to the shooting or who the perpetrators were.
The body of the deceased was buried in accordance with Islamic tradition.
