SENATOR CHUCK’S HEALTH STATUS

Republican Chuck Grassley, the oldest member of the US Senate, has been admitted to a hospital in his home state of Iowa. He is currently being treated for an infection and is receiving antibiotic infusions. At 90 years old, Senator Grassley’s health is being closely monitored, and he is in good spirits. His office has stated that he will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders.

Senator Grassley has an impressive record of 27 years of perfect attendance in the Senate, having missed only one vote in 2020 after testing positive for COVID-19. Prior to that, the last vote he missed was in 1993 due to intense floods in Iowa. Despite his absence, the Senate is currently dealing with critical matters, including a vote on a short-term spending bill to avoid a government shutdown.

The bill aims to keep the government funded until March. Without an agreement, some government agencies could run out of funding by Friday. Senator Grassley’s dedication to his role and his longevity in the Senate make his health situation a matter of concern.
