THE BLACK STARS OF GHANA OFF TO A POOR START IN THE AFCONS

In the first AFCON match today, the Black Stars of Ghana faced Cape Verde. Unfortunately, Ghana fell to a late defeat, with Cape Verde upsetting Ghana with a stoppage-time goal
The final score was 2-1 in favor of Cape Verde.. This result puts Cape Verde at the top of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group B.

Cape Verde looked to unsettled Ghana in the first half of the match as they took the lead in the 17th minutes of the first half by Jamiro Monteiro. Alexander Djiku equalized for the black stars of Ghana from the corner through a powerful header, yet it wasn’t enough for the black stars as the cape Verdes had the last say of the match.

Garry Rodrigues scored a late-game goal for his side to side carry the day and break the heart of many Ghanaians. Ghana have a lot to do if they’re to make it out of the Group, the second match will be against Egypt on the 18, January 2024.
