The National Youth Authority is embarking on a campaign to ensure that young people also protect themselves and do not end up contracting the virus since the number of young people contracting the virus in the country are more per the information on the Ghana Health Service website.
This campaign was launched on 30th March 2020 to help young people and the society at large in combating the coronavirus.
The National Youth Authority during the press briefing today indicated that the institution has donated over 700,000 PPEs to the Ministry of Health in an attempt to combat the virus. The institution is also making available over 2000 volunteers into communities to help with the campaign by going to remote areas with megaphones to educate people about the pandemic with the support of the Ministry of Information guiding these volunteers with the appropriate messages to use during the campaign.
500 megaphones would be used by volunteers for this activity as well as support in various isolation centers in the country. Baseline studies are also being done to enable the National Youth Authority to be well informed about the effects this pandemic has caused on most youth in the country in order for a redress by the government when necessary.
